In today's ever changing job market, a well
designed and well informed web site for a job
recruitment agency does the trick. Today's Banker
is specialized in offering finance related jobs
to job seekers and a really intelligent tool
for employers that look for staff. When the company
first asked for our help, the goal was to create
a unique job recruitment site.
The Challenge
Internet is now full of job recruitment sites.
How can someone create a site that would catch
the eye and yet be filled with enough information
to please anyone? How could we integrate two
separate data bases with two separate views to
please but still keep the site easy to use?
The Solution
From the beginning we divided the work into
three major problems: the design and layout,
the job seeker's perspective and the employer's
perspective.
The more simple the better
First issue to be addressed was the design and
layout. We decided to create a mirror image site
so that both a job seeker and an employer would
find the search section easily. So the place
for that was in the middle of the page, to catch
the eye. The rest of the design followed easily
resulting in a simple yet interesting and novel
site.
Job seeker needs information fast
It
is commonly known that only if the job seeker
find the information he / she is looking for,
only then they would create an account and use
all the tools. Hence, the main concern was the
data base behind the search for jobs. Once that
was done, we created an easy to use “control
panel” allowing the future employee to edit the
resume, search for jobs and write the resume.
Employers are picky
The part
addressed to employers was focused on the fact
that more the information an employer can get
from a future employee in a short amount of time,
the better. So the data base behind the search
available for employers was designed in order
to support several major keywords linked to financial
jobs that an employer would use. Also the “control panel” allows
the employer to search for resumes, to post jobs
or edit them. |
